We are thrilled to offer a unique and cherished collaboration with our esteemed indigenous seed preserver and naturalist, Abena.

Abena will guide us in exploring the beauty, cultural richness, and environmental depth of Tongo in Northern Ghana.

Our stay will be at her retreat space, Tongo Oasis, where you will gain insights into the deep wisdom and ancestral knowledge of the Gurune and Talensi people. The experience includes traditional and educational activities, featuring workshops on traditional and natural food processing.

Accommodation options are as follows:

  • Shared Room
    This option offers a shared room within a cozy vernacular building, constructed in the traditional architectural style of Northern Ghana.

  • Private Tent
    Enjoy a private stay in a spacious, standing tent. Mattresses and bedsheets will be provided, along with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

  • Rooftop
    Experience a unique and cozy setup by sleeping under the stars on a traditional Tongo rooftop. A room will be available for changing and storing your belongings.

    Amenities include conventional and composting shared toilets, shared showers, and an open dining area serving plant-based (and fish-based) daily meals.

    Logistics: From Accra Domestic Airport, you will take a 40-minute flight to Tamale in Northern Ghana, near the border with Burkina Faso. Upon arrival at Tamale Airport, we will arrange a shuttle to transport you to Tongo Oasis, which takes approximately 3 hours.

    At the end of the retreat, our shuttle will return you to Tamale Airport, where you will continue to your next destination.
