WHO ARE WE?
ASAASE
The project is based on the concept of experiential learning. It is situated in the subtropical jungle of West Africa, specifically in Ghana’s Eastern Region, approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Accra, near the small farming community of Mankrong.

The aim of the ASAASE Movement is to retrace and preserve ancient indigenous wisdom and knowledge related to self-sustainability. This includes practices such as natural building, organic farming, herbal medicine, pottery, food processing, and other traditional crafts that were inherently based on self-sustainability and independence. We also integrate useful complementary elements like recycling techniques, earthbag construction, agroforestry, and the moderate use of solar energy and biogas systems.
Our mission is to heal the Earth—and thereby ourselves—by living sustainably within an eco-friendly and indigenous framework.
We offer hands-on learning programs (workshops), natural retreat experiences, and elite hand-processed natural products (earth-offerings) that preserve the craftsmanship of our indigenous culture and local community. These initiatives not only produce high-quality natural products for our customers but also generate substantial income for the community members of Mankrong, thereby fostering a realistic and fair trade system.
Additionally, we collaborate with schools to provide youth with knowledge on sustainable practices, actions, and techniques. Our goal is to inspire students, their parents, teachers, and principals by offering hands-on learning experiences. We hope to create a lasting impact that guides future generations toward sustainable living.
